Protect your brand name and logo with a trademark application filed with the Trade Marks Registry, Government of India. You can use the ™ symbol as soon as the application is filed.

Documents required

  • Applicant name and address (individual, firm or company)
  • Logo file (if you are registering a logo) and the brand name
  • Date of first use, if already in use

Timeline

You get the application number within 1–2 working days of complete documents. Full registration usually takes 12–24 months if there are no objections or oppositions.

Fees & notes

  • Prices include the government fee: ₹4,500 per class for individuals, startups and small enterprises (with Udyam/DPIIT), or ₹9,000 per class for others.
  • Replies to objections and opposition/hearing support are quoted separately.
